Hi dear friends,
Before you guys are gone and get very bussy in your internship please shine some light here.
I am IMG GC holder living in US and going for MATCH 09 but with no important experience of research during the medical school, yeah I feel bad for that but anyways in order to explore the research area and improve my resume how can I possible start a research project in USA.
Thanks a lot for your help

start emailing profs in the universities you would like to do research in. there are tons of people looking for volunteers to assist in their research. most of them...u wont get an answer,some of them will say no.about 2-3 will be there who would have a vacancy. Be persistent.

Thanks PGI2alpha, please answer:
What do you think is the priority order to be more successful in the coming match:
1:I got old USCE(4 years ago)---------->Get recent USCE(priority number 1)
2:No research experience---------------->E mail professors for volunteer opportunities
3:Fresh step 2ck--------------------------->Take step 3(priority number 2 or 3)
Thanks!!

If you could get a step 3 score and a USCE side by side...tht would be the best. Coz if you need a H1 visa, having a step 3 at the time of applying helps. AT the same time keep emailing profs for research positions. If you get it fine...you can switch from the USCE place to research. In the meantime, atleast you would be doing something. they dont want any holes in your resume. you cannot just say tht i ws sitting at home and studying for step 3. if you are in US, go for USCE.

USCE should be your priority..... USCE... for me is Externships and not observerships! Good luck...
