I want to clarify if an H1B visa means that you can not enter the USA more than 10 days prior to the start of your job??? My program gives us an option to come in 2 weeks earlier and get accustomed, does that mean if I am on an h1 i cannot avail that.

its not start of ur program its start of the date ur petition is for...say ur prog starts on july 1 and ur orientation 15 june...now if ur prog files ur visa from july 1 u can enter US on 20 earliest...if they file from 15 june then u can get in by 5th....but yes u cant get in before 10days...maybe exceptions can be there but not usually
