Hi friends,
It is well known that step 3 is a must to get H1B but the match is getting harder each year so for IMGs with GC/citizens is it better to have some fresh USCE than step 3 done by the time of application?
Thanks

almost all AMGs will lack a step 3 score....so if visa isnt an issue, i cant see why a step 3 would help, on the other hand USCE is most desirable in almost all institutes and branches, though i dont know what 'fresh USCE' refers to, but its good to have as much of USCE as possible

Thanks mukho, well i've done some observership in US as a medical student 4 years ago and that's why i meant to say the need of recent or fresh USCE.

hmm...this is a new scenario...dont know if old experience loses some value as time goes by, like lors, but maybe getting some new experience again wont be bad...more the bettersmiling face

I think it does, now the dilemma is to try to do both USCE and step 3 because I heard that is better to take step 3 just after step 2ck but keeping in mind that by the time of application USCE should be the priority. Does it make sense?

I think if I had to choose, it would be USCE. Illinois state for example states about activities during the last two years. Of course USCE + step 3 would be even better...

doing step 3 and USCE together isnt impossible...afterall most IMGs take step 3 in between IV season...would depend on both how hectic ur USCE turns out to be and how much u remember from step2 CK...so u could try preparing for it and see if u feel ready to take teh test but i still would put new USCE above step 3
