Many people did CS after Step 1, so you are in the right time to do CS. Most people think 1-2 months is enough for CS. The most important thing is finding a study partner and practice again and again.

Your study partner try to mimic a standard patient. You ask question, do PE, take note, etc.

Practicing in timed mode is very important, too. One month od real dedication is enough if your English is good. I used basically FA and watched a few PE exams on the net. Read the csprotocol blog, it's very very helpful. I can help you during the final lap if you have Skype. I hope you already have a date for the CS, if you are going for 2009 match!

I am not clear what you are thinking about. So, I am not sure I can give you any advice on your issue. It seems you are not sure to do CK first or CS first. If this is the question, I am telling you, it doesn't matter. Lots of people did CS before CK, but most do CS after CK.

I am not sure if this was originally the question of this topic, but I know a lot of people who took CS before step 1 and step2.. So, it does not really matter, even if CS is your first USMLE step. Btw, i am doing the same If english is not your problem and you did not do too bad in med school and you're a rather fresh grad, then I'd say 2-3 weeks of study time is more than enough. You may need more depending on what your weak areas are.. Good luck!

But again, Toledo, if you are aiming for 2009 match, you have to schedule the CS ASAP and try and change the date to July/August maximum. You are running against time at this point. If you're going for 2010 match, you're fine. The order of the tests doesn't matter. Actually studying for CS helps a little for step 2 CK.

If you try and set a date for CS, maybe you won't get it for the next 4 months (they are already booked). The ideal is to have passed and have the result before September first. You may apply for residency programs without the result or later than that, but (everybody says that) you'll be risking getting lesser number of interviews. So maybe you should guarantee a date for the CS (the sooner the better) right away, then spend a few hours in front of the computer to try and reschedule it for even sooner, in an attempt to have the result the soonest possible, too.
