Hi everyone,
I am taking my exam in another month. I haven't covered all the subjects even once yet, UW pending, CCS pending, doing very badly in UW now. Scoring only 49%. Took my CK 1.5 years ago and have forgotten everything.
I am feeling helpless. It is my fault that I did not start studying before. But, what can be done now? Any suggestions?
Is anyone scoring badly in UW?
Please help.

^Sorry to hear about that. I'm pretty disappointed with my qbank scores too. When is your exam? We still have a couple of weeks to go to brush up on our review. We can do this!!

revise any ck notes if u have made them earlier...do at least one CCS every day...the theory part of CCS explanations in UW are very good revision material...initially a lot of freinds of mine an me had really bad scores too..mostly early 50s..they usually improve, dont panic as that never helps....step 3 is all bout practical medicne so it takes a while to get into the groove especially if u havent practised office medicine in US...but u'll get there..all the best

I have a question regarding UW average score. Do they figure in the fact that people might have repeat questions which can falsely raise the average on the same set of questions? Is the average for the first timer?

i always thought scores are counted only when u do random questions, timed block of full 48 questions for the first time...o/w it wouldn't really reflect exam atmosphere right?

I don't want to sound like an advertisement, but I really recommend the USMLE Step Booster book... especially in your case... I wish you had posted this message a few days before though... it takes about 7 days for you to receive the book and it takes around 23 days to finish it. you don't have to listen to me, I just think that it will really work for you! other than that, you should think of postponing your exam date... can't you? good luck.

try the book and see if you score better in UW. it's a fairly new book but I expect it to be one of the most famous!
