Well, I see that no one answered your q, so I decided to be constructive.

I am pretty new to this thing also, and I also am just starting with learning... but I can just briefly advise you and point some things that you can find out for yourself.

From my research and investigation, it should be enough 3 months (I suppose minimum time you should devote to daily study is 8 hours, best in 40 minutes blocks, with 10 minute breaks inbetween). My opinion is you should find a comfortable study space, calm, with no distractions. You should listen to baroque music in order for your brain to be more creative , receptive and adjusted to learning. On WinAMP find station that plays baroque called MAGNATUNE.COM

Regarding the learning material... there are some books which diferrent sources say are best.
For comprehensive review, 95% say First Aid for the USMLE Step 1 is a must! (Many candidates use short description FA). You should study from the other review subject specific books (will describe them below) and make notes in FA. That way at the end you will have only one study tool in your hands which will be comprehensive, and customized to your style (I think this is very important because every one has his own study custom)

Subject wise, these books are a must (of course - you should investigate this forum and FA advise on which books to use). I also will write which combination of books should be best with adding that book (+ book)

Kaplan lecture notes for:
- Behavioural Science
- Pharma+FA
- Immunology +/- Microbiology (for Micro FA is enough)
- Biochemistry

Board review Series (BRS)
- Physiology
- Pathology (Goljan material is also excellent for this)

High Yield (HY)
- Anatomy
- Neuroanatomy
- Embryology

Histology (FA should suffice)

Q&A:
Usmle World
Kaplan QBank
Kaplan QBook

Again, this is just my suggestion based on vast investigation in this forum, FA, and other sources.

Some people use just Kaplan and achieve high scores. Some use only this material and have their result around 99:
Kaplan
Goljan
FA

I believe you will do good with any of the above advices.

Good luck with your preparation. Don't forget to enjoy. Use your present time, and seize the moment! This day is here now and is gone tomorrow. Don't forget you have a life to live.

Hai H2SO4 Sulphuric Acid

Good work. As far as H2 SO4 is concerned I agree with him including research regarding 40 mins block + 10 mins break though i myself sit and stand and sit again for topic . getting up when felling fatigued
Actually thinking of joining Library but i have a full time job and sitting for 6 months big span of time
People at home will object but then USAMLE , residency and then Americas friendly visa policy.
I guess the day it will be over, i will enjoy all this. Any way Best of luck everone including sprezzatura as this is a shrinking world and if usmle is new for ur mind-- well then work hard and my prays for everyone including myself.
