yaar ...why dont you get the Kaplan materials to start off with. And then come to this forum and get more info about other books. Here is what I am doing for different subjects: Biochemistry....Kaplan Physiology.....Kaplan Histology....Kaplan Neuroanatomy.....Kaplan plus IB Singh ( which is my med school text book) Anatomy....Chaurasia(my med school book) plus Kaplan Embryology.....IB Singh Genetics....Its kind of all over the place in addition to whats included in Kaplan BioChem Pathology.....I am trying to get my hands on Goljan ....If you find a bookstore in Delhi that has his Rapid Review Book PLEASE LET ME KNOW HERE! OK? Oh ...and throw the Kaplan Path book into the Indian Ocean!!! It is garbage! Phramacology.....Use Kaplan plus Lippincots. I am also using K.D. Tripathi which was my med school pharma text book. Microbiology.....Use Kaplan . I am using my med school class books also since our med school really drilled us on this! Behavioral Science ...Use Kaplan again. So get the Kaplan books and get started with the reviews. Then do the Kaplan Q Book. Also, sign up with USMLE world and do the questions and go over the explanations throroughly. Oh.....and DONT FORGET FIRST AID TO STEP 1!!!!! Know this book inside out. And do as many questions as you can. This will get you a 99! Read this forum......there are many wonderful people who have taken the step 1 and scored well.....listen to their advise. Just hang out here for 10 minutes in your break time and soon you will get your feet wet into the USMLE ocean and will know exactly what to do to ace this exam. Good Luck.

Also, under each subject forum there is a thread that says " Best review books " for that subject....Its a good idea to check it out....to know what people consider best for that subject. And then go get that book if you want. There are many High Yield books also like HY for neuro, gross anatomy, histo, behavioral sciences, etc that are considered good....but i am not doing them since I just find it better to review from books that I have already read than to start with a new book.
