Hey..How r u all?I wish u r doing well.
To all those taking their step2-ck exam around June/July,Lets meet here...share views and exchange information...Let`s encourage each other
For me,I have finished my first reading of all subjects;I used kaplan notes plus DVDs.
Now I`m doing kaplan Q book of Obs/Gyna,Psyhiatry and Surgery..Also I`m reading pediatrics for a second time....Very soon,I`ll start UW Internal medicine.
Wishing to hear from U soon

Hi there...nice post to start.
Ok here I am now..still struggling with first time internalmedicine..done a little bit of pedi and Psych..and doing Usmle world qs.I am using Kaplan lectures,videos and UW as resource. Had u used surgery kaplan video?Is it worth watching?

mine is on 2nd june......there is not much time left...i m done with the 2nd reading of kaplan notes all subject and usmleworld.when should i take nbme and which one ? today i do usmle cd....35,35,34....i know this not a good score.but i cannot delay my ck....because i already schedule my cs on 2nd july.

Hey HeartBlock.....I think that Surgery as well as pediatrics DVDs are not worth watching like other subjects.I watched trauma chapter but I completed the rest reading only from notes...BTW,have u scheduled ur test date or not yet?
To Arifar..I have heard many times that NBME forms are the best predictors for real test performance...If U have done with all subjects as u say,I think U can go for thoese forms starting with form 1 which is the easiest.

hi everybody!!
nice idea!an encouraging and motivating thread.
I'm taking my ck in july.
I'm done with Surgery and in a few days will be done with Int Med as well, first reading, lecture notes( I usually do only one good reading and a quick review just after that). won't have time to reread the notes. plannin to do UW after the completion of notes, for 1 whole month, only UW during this month and nothing else.

hi everybody
im also planning to give step 2 in end of may or june. till now have done one read of all subjects some of the UW questions. doing second read with videos. right now trying to finish Internal medicine have been doing it for one month and this is my second read dont know how am i gona complete it. i dont have that fear of the exam so thats y not studying properly just need some support. by the way mother of 1year old

Hey All,
I am also taking my exam in June,did Internal Medicine and psychiatry 1st reading from Kaplan LN and DVDs now starting peds,did UW of both of these subjects but i think i am very slow,very motivating thread i really need support.
Egyusmler i started Crush but i am really confused as some people are saying that FA new edition is better than Crush what do you suggest?

I already have both FA and Crush...I read most of them
FA is used by some usmlers as alternate to Kaplan notes...It is not bad really;U can even depend on it beside UW for studying...but what I see is that crush is a final review book with less details than FA but with better presentation of highyield material.
Anyway,I suggest that as long u have started with crush,Go on with it.If U have time,pay it for UW or NBME or any other q bank..Dont waste time with FA then...As U know questions practice is more important than reading notes

nice thread egyusmler , hope I can join you in july for the exam
done with 1st reading of all subjects with kaplan Q-book long time ago ,
reading pediatrics now and planning to go through UW soon Inshaallah....
I have FA with me but couldn't hold my self and keep reading it for long time , I start thinking of every thing in the world and fail completely to focus , may be I'll look for another review book or just will stick to kaplan notes and questions

hey may I join this group? I'm absolutely freaked out. I hope to make it by July so I can apply for the 2009 match. I've only finished one reading of my kaplan notes. Is anyone in the same boat?
I didn't watch any of the Kaplan DVD's, should I? Is there any time?

don't freak out!  you 've got much time to go.
I have only read surg and medicine( not completed yet) lecture notes...what should I say!! I'm also planning to take it in july and aiming to 2009 match.
..so I suppose I am in another boat, behind u! hey, just relax and everything's gonna be fine.
I don't know about the videos..I won't watch them..but many people say if u have enough time these are good( or at least some of them).
I will focus on lecture notes and UW.

To TOOLAZT2STUDY......as kleovoulos said it dpends on ur time...inbetween those videos,the ones of obs/gyna,ethics and psych are worth watching in my opinion..Not all of IM are useful and U can do without ped and surgery videos..
To ANNEGERMANY.....As long u r using kaplan notes I think no need for FA if u r in shortagge of ur time.Some ppl use only FA plus UW explanations instead of paying much time with reading kaplan notes and watching their videos...I think If one suggests a rapid comprehensive book for review,I`d say Crush or Seccrets.

toolazy2study: I usually study 12-13h per day. However, I can't keep my mind concentrated all the time..whenever I feel too tired or distracted I take a break.
I'm not a quick reader, so despite the time I use, I don't go over a lot of pages every day..not because of the language, just because I feel an irresistable tendency to underline ALMOST EVERYTHING!!!...and this takes time..( does this sound OCD???  )

I wish if I could study for longer time as I used to do during school.

My day is on June 16. I haven't done with anything.
I'm still working on IM. I did UW 2 times in Cardio and I got only 50%.
What should I do??? I'm so down now. Need help.....really...please.

Also taking in june inshallah.finished 1st read of kaplan and started UWbut scores not good.so i have to combine the two ,read FA and do UW a long side.I thought step 2 would be easier than step 1 but now i know it really isn't.
BTW i think the latest edition of FA is really good and detailed.I'm doing my second read from there.so far all the answers in UW can be found nicely explained there.Don't know about the other editions though but the 6th edition is good-to me.
