I recently had my visa interview, the guy asked me for my usmle scores and i showed him my step 1 score (92). I also showed him my step 2 ck scheduling permit and my cs 2nd july appointment. After going through these documents he told me I'll have to come back again to the embassy with my 2 ck results. He told me that my visa is not rejected but its been put on hold. Now my ck date is on 22nd may, so that means i can expect my ck result between 11th and 18 june and if go to emabassy again with my score, how long will it take to get the visa? Should i delay my cs exam to 15th july?

It might dependent on the country , I'm not sure though. My family got visa same they as the interview ( in middle Europe. )

Did you show him the Visa facilitation letter that ECFMG provides? That usually helps.
Visas are usually granted/denied on the same day. It may take you a while to get your passport back, depending on courier service in your country, or whether you can collect it personally that same evening [which can be done in my country]

Yes I showed him my visa letter, but i dont why he wanted to see my step 2 ck score as well. He gave me a letter which states that my visa has been put on hold under 212g and further processing will take place when i will submit my step 2 ck scores.He told me, i will not need any new appointment, just come with my 2 ck scores whenever they become available. My mother had also applied for visa with me and he granted her a 5 yr multiple entry visit visa and told her to collect her passport after 7 to 10 days.
I was asking this question because i know someone who was also told to "submit" his step 2ck score through the courier as soon as they become available, he got his passport after 40 days. In my case he has told me to appear "myself" with only step 2 score and the letter he gave me.

Sorry, Ujk. I don't know about this. Visa issuing protocol differs fron country to country, and even illogically from person-to-person. Good luck with it though. I hope you have enough time to get it all done before your CS date?
