HI ZAINY.Just come to know that they have changed usmle pattern and its a bit difficult from 2008 onwards.can u clarify that?how was ur exam ,different or same pattern?

w.salam ALI, for 3rd reading if u revise all the notes u took, i think it will b more than enough, but if u think u have any area that is weak or can be improved go for the text as well i suggest, good luck

mr lonely, my exam was tougher than i xpected as i have already written, some blocks are easy, some Qs are 1-2 line pure recall Qs, some Qs r really tough and seem to be written in some other language...................After finishing my exam i had no idea of what i had done, i thought i will pass.
If u ask me to compare, NBME is very close to real thing and very good predictor of score.
I hope i answered ur question

congratulations zainy , i fnished my uw , now im checking my wrong answers and taken notes of all , but its time consuming , i finished with 63 grade uw , in the morning im reading in system review patho and phisyologi ,and at night im doing wrong anwers.
this is my second read of notes , do you think is ok ? because im start getting exhausted, and tired .i didnt take nbme yet.
what do you do at the end of the process when you get tired of all this things , pls advice.

Aslam o Alaekum zainy howz it going?i just wanted to know that shud i go thru the goljan 100 36 n 46 pages high yield stuff which is so talked about..and i also wanted to know that when we go to the nbme online n pay for a form do we have to take it rite than or we can buy n than take it any other day?thanks alot for ur help...

@ BASOPHILIA: when r u gonna take ur exam? plz don't relax, last weeks r really important.........same thing happened to me, i think i did not utililize last 2-3 wks properly otherwise i would have done better. Take a day or two off and then start again, work hard, u did good with u-world, good luck for ur exam, do NBME, it will guide u where u need to exert more.
@ ALI: W.salam, i m a little lazy in preparing for step 2, i was planning to take it by end june, i don't think i will b able to make it, i m not even done with first read yet.
i had 36 n 46 pages, i just glanced some of them at the end, its up to you, i preffered to reread my own notes than those. . About NBME, when u r buying it, u will get 2 choices, one of them is already checked(i think it says preferred or recomended) thats the one i took, it gives u one hr for each block, u can pause even during the block n start later but alll u get is one hr/block. I don't know how the other choice while buying works, i did both NBME blocks in time mode.

hi zainy thank you for your answer , well i dont put the day yet , but i guess i ll do soon because , im getting tired , but you are right ill take 2 days off , and ill listen goljan audios again and take nbme 2 , and then ill put the day

@DOC 123: Thanx doc, i have no idea abt road map, i used katzung during my school yrs, for usmle i did pharm totally from kaplan lecture notes and u-world( and i had a star on pharm), i had a lot of pharm on my test, it was simple n straight forward, not very tiny details. Which ever book u use, do it well, go over it again in again. On my exam, autonomic as xpected was a lot,graphs n figures, immune and CA pharm, anti biotics all were there..............believe it or not i had same Q on bleomycin twice.

goljan slides r xcellent, read the info next to each slide, very valuable points. I used webpath for ct, mri, xrays, it helped me,

Ali, on their web site, in systemic patho, neurology has cts and few mri. and then in anatomy histology section, there are more neuro images. When u r watching histo or gross specimen slide, at the bottom of slide, there is a little tab saying MRI or CT or XR, click that n u will c it,........... i hope it helps

i have started uworld explainations from today zaini previously just solved the questions doing 100 questions a day so will finish it in 18 days n will mark the questions with concepts which i may forget so i can review them in the last 10 days with first aid n my goljan notes is that ok? need a 95 plus?any more suggestions

thats very ok,, read the xplanations very well,try to pactice graphs n figures given with xplanation, u will see the difference when u r done with all of them, good luck , u will do gr8 insha Allah.
