Hi! I just wanted to ask you all about subscribing to USMLE RX for Step 1 USMLE. I am at present still reviewing the material from Kaplan books but I find that I cant retain everything that I have studied in the first reading. It will take me at least 2-3 readings to be thorough with everything. So, I want to do some questions everyday...at least for a few hours along with reading the stuff. Questions help me to recall and reinforce things better in my head. I feel its much better than the exhaustive reading that I am doing.. My seniors told me to do UW in the end after a couple of reads. So, I will take UW in the end. However, I am thinking of subscribing to USMLE RX in the mean time. So, how is USMLE RX ? What is the difference in signing up for 2 months vs 1 month? Do they give more questions in 2 months? How does this month thing work out? Do you get a couple of questions per day or what? Or is there a set number of questions given in that 1 month subscription? In that case what if I dont finish all the given number of questions in that period of time? Will it stop at the end of the month regardlsess of the number of questions that I do? Also, If i finish the number the alloted questions for a 1 month subscription and if I sign up for another 1 month subscription do I get a different set of questions or is it the same questions? Or am I given access to their entire database of questions for an entire month and then I try to do as many as I can in 1 month? How does this 1 month thing work? Could somebody please enlighten me on this because I am about to sign up for it. Somebody please advise. Thanks.

All the details u asked can be known by directly contacting them thru email / phone However... Usmle Rx is best used with First Aid. So its a recall consolidation kinda thing..So u need to know everythign thoroughly to do it well...ITs better doen at the end of ur prep... to go along with First Aid and also to keep the Qs practice going on. Instead UW if done as early as possible will make ur concepts clear and prepare you for the worst...you dont wanna leave such a good Qbank till the last month of ur prep...I donno why ur seniors suggested to do it at the last stage...cos u r not here to ace UW Qbank in first attempt itself.. u r here to learn from it all the concepts and make all the mistakes to get ur concepts right. My Two Paise...

yep, do UW from the beginning - topic wise or subject wise, which ever way is convenient. you can't imagine the way they frame the questions. it will help you strategize your study plan and make it more efficient.

do however u want, even doing UW in beginning can be disheartening bc if u havent read thru the materials or have some solid plan in how to think about the question, u can get overwhelmed.. use qbank to re-iterate the kaplan notes and such, add ur material u dont know to ur FA (i took mine to kinko's, had binding cut off and had them spiral it with added paper in btwn each chapter so i could add notes from UW) and then do ur UW bank, and if still u want to maximize u FA, do the RX bank (im doing now) rite before u exa, b/c it does go literally with FA (bank is wrtten from them so makes sense).. i have trouble memorizing certaint things, so this way it helps me to solidify FA materials, but i also have my added UW notes into my FA book, so best of both worlds!! hpe that helps u out!

i have bought it for 1 month, but i mean it's always cheaper to do the 3 month, i just have my exam comoing up so i bought for 1 month.. yes u always have access to the entire bank when u purchase it for however long amt of time u want.. they dont compromise ur choice of q's, that would be unfair!! hehe.. hope that answered u question!

I am doing USMLE Rx right now because I also figured that it would be better to save UW for last. I hope I didn't make a mistake. I will finish up Rx in about 2 months and then I planned to jump on UW for another 3 months.
