Hi everybody!
I need your help, please! I'm about to send my papers to ECFG to be approved to take Step 1, I know that I need to sign Form 186 in presence of Notary Public. But on the ECFMG site it says that all documents should be sent "from the office of the official who certified Form 186"? What does it mean? Can anybody help me here? I just don't get this part, how do I send them from Notary's office?

Go to Notary ( if u r a graduate )
Get it done.
Send it along with other docs .
Only the Verification Documents are to be sent from the medical school addresss...which u can also ask fedex to pick it up from the medical school if u pay in advance.

I sent my papers already but I think I did it wrong. I got my Form 186 notarized and than I asked the Notary to send the papers from her office (as req. on ecfmg site-the part I couldn't understand), she gave me a very small envelope, but I could fit only a half of all the papers I had (incl. form 186) and then all the rest of paperwork I sent in the other envelope. Just now I found out that All of them should be sent in one envelope!!!! And I forgot to send my Form 187. I'm so upset now. Usually I'm much more organized but I guess all this stress from studying for Step is killing me and my brain!
Thanks again for your reply Kalyann. Do you think it's gonna be a problem with ECFMG after I did all the job wrong?
If anybody had any problems like this, pls let me know!?

hey u need not have posted it from the notary office... it says that i know... but everyone i know just mailed it themself along with other documents... including myself... now if usmle has some problem with wat u did...they will post a letter to u to resend the entire thing... or watever they want... they had a prob with my cert of identity n told me to resend.. which i did... so relax.... this is just the beginning...not a big prob at all... unless u are reall pressurised to apply soon n write the exam next month!!
