Hi.
I wanted to understand the concept of Hypercalcemia and Hypocalcemia. How do they affect the RMP of muscles?

  #2

not much effect in theory(use Nerst equation to figure out) but hypocalcemia decreases the threshold for action potentials.

  #3

hypocalcemia => sensitize Na channel (by decreasing blockage of Na channel) => easily depolarize => hyper-excitability

hypercalcemia => desensitize Na channel (by increasing blockage of Na channel) => hardly depolarize => hypo-excitability

but i don't think it has a great effect on resting membrane potential
