yes my friend did get one...First aid does deal with schizophenia case....ask about all symptoms..will have auditory hallucinations..esp...check for suicidal/homicidal tendencies...if aleady on medication c for compliance..check on quality of life..rule out substance abuse induced psychosis.. trigerring event if any... family history of mental illness.. family and friends support obtained or not..
basiically ur D/D will be
scizophrenia
schizotphreniform disorder
substance induced psychosis
breaf psychotic disorder
depression with psychotic features..

how long is this problem going on [personality disorder versus schizophrenia]
can u describe the problem to me
is there anything that triggers ur problem.
do u see things wat others cant[visual hallucination]...if yes 1/.do u drink alcohol .did u recently stop drinking ?if yes why ..2/headache ,early morning vomiting 3 /trauma /injury 4/jerky movents of pirticular parts
do u hear voices?wat do the voices say?do they adress u ?[auditory hallucination]/mostly schizophrenic ,can be alcohol withdrawal .
FOR SCHIZOPHRENIA ;comment on sPEECH 'like poverty of speech n its content flow of conversation[WHILE PT IS TALKING] ;HYGEINE OF PATIENT; PAITENTS RELATIONSHIP TO OTHERS .CONCENTRATION
affect .that is mood is congruent with expressions OR NOT
do u feel on ur skin ,when u see nothing is touching ur skin [tactile hallucination]ask abt cocaine use n ask if he recently stopped takiing it
do u smell something others can t [olfactory hallucination][same q abt jerky movements]
question related to mood[schizoaffective disorder]
anyweakness numbness in any body part [cerebrovascular accident]
hav u been taking other recreational drugs esp ask abt hallucinogens [LSD],barbiturates ,amphetamine abuse

S= Speech
M= Mood
T= Thought Disorder eg: Delusions
H= Hallucinations and Illusions
I= Insight ( He understands he is sick)
