if u have goljan notes, he explains how exactly it causes it.. b.c of the increase in NADH from the alcohol, the G3P converts to DHAP and that causes for more VLDL made or something along that lines, the liver traps the fat.. i may not be making full sense as i dont have book in front of me, but im pretty sure along that lines, if u have in goljan notes, his first chapter explains it.. good luc!

Impaired lipoprotein Assmebly in alcoholism is referred to as the formation of excess TGs in the liver. High NADH: NAD ratio leadds to increased production of Glycerol 3 P form DHAP which leads to further increased production of TGs and shunting of Acetyl CoA from Citric Acid Cycle leads to more TGs formation. It also results in decreased fatty acid oxidation and also decreased production & export of VLDL outside the liver due to the presence of acetaldehyde.

thanks guys.that was very helpful....i exactly didnt know what is lipoprotein assembly.now i got that...
