The pursuit of an observership seems futile. When I call the program coordinators=administrative assistants, I get a flat out NO.

Im wondering if writing the Program Director through email is more fruitful or will this piss off the coordinators for going over their heads?

Any thoughts please let me know.

My PD will simply forward your email to me to answer. If the PC says that they don't have observers, then why wouldn't you believe them?

Have you searched on-line to see if the programs that you are interested in offer observerships? Have you search through scutwork.com? Through the forums here?

From what I have seen, getting an observership is mostly about who you know.

Good luck

thanks BBB for the answer. You've been quite helpful to a lot of us. The reason for this post is that I called a certain program that does offer observerships but you have to know so one to set it up. I wanted to go through the proper channels so i called the program coordinator and she did flat out tell me NO. So, i really don't know the answer to why should would tell me no when I do know in fact that they do give observership opportunities to people that know people in that program. I assume it is to control the number of irritating phone calls asking for observerships. I guess I'm gonna go the non traditional way and use my connections to get me in. She could I call back the PC and just name drop or have my connection set it up?

If you failed that way, go with all the possible connections would help. GL.
