Observership at VA?

Hi. Is it possible to do an Observership at a VA Hospital? Do they accept/consider requests to observe there?

I personally knew an IMG did observership in IM at VA hospital because he knew the chief resident. And the chief resident talked with the director, and then he was there for a month or two. GL.

Then try email or call them directly if you could find out their contact information. But if you don't know anyone and you want a position right away, the chance will be slim. However, it never hurt to try. Best of luck!

Btw, do you think a LoR from a VA Hosp physician will carry more weight than a non-VA doctor?

Don't know. In my opinion, no. VA doctors works for the government with a lower salary but a nice retirement benefit. That is my impression.
