Hello, everyone. I'm desperatelly needing advises here. Old IMG, PhD, research work since graduated, a small grant, just got a faculty position, feel that research is really painful and hopeless (hard to get fundings, etc). Should I go for the board? struggling!!!

Hi. Do you want to work with patients? If the answer is Yes, then Go for it. If it's just research that you don't like and you're trying to get away from it, you may not enjoy Clinical Medicine either.

it depends on what you want
if you really want to do clinicals go for it
nothing can stop you
but if you are doubtful about whether you want it , then you may think a bit more

Thanks, paheli and milee99. That's what I want to find out too, but I really want to get away from research laterly. Whatever I choose, it'll all be new-start for me. I would rather go for a really good one, I know it's hard. Worth trying , isn't it?

If u love , I will say if u LOVE clinical go all the way for it , BUT pl do not run aaway fr research thou u like it but u just not in mood due to circumstances rt now or fr now & then .
Since if u love the job u will b better off , the job is fair or not, busy or not , good or bad in others ppl eyes . Off course though job have to b reasonable , enough for supporting fm & self as essential need for living survive .. at least .
