In patients with severe acute asthma to the point of having respiratory acidosis,i used to think that subcutaneous epinephrine should be administered prior to intubating.I have ,however, come across a question stating that this is no longer done and intubation would be the next step in patients going to respiratory failure.
Could someone please clarify this conflict and support his/her statement with the source of the information.
