Hello everyone! I just finished the exam a couple of days ago and wanted to share my thoughts. I think it's doable, the questions were very similar to UW- some nice and easy, some really tough, narrowed down to 2 and had to pick.... CCS cases were all pretty much straight forward. I agree that this test is more a test of your endurance... Day 1- I got 5 office blocks and 2 ER/inpatient. Day 2- 2 office/2 ER(inpatient) ccs cases: with me they all ended early and all of my patients got better except one, who did not get worse either, just stayed the same...I hope this is a good sign. Again, the cases were all pretty straight forward. cases: ovarian cancer, pericarditis, peptic ulcer, VSD ind a baby, polymyalgia, dyfunctional uterine bleed, hyperosmolar diabetic coma, iron def anemia in an infant, anaphylactic shock I prepared for about 6 weeks, on and off, since I was working full time. Took 2 weeks off before the exam to study full time but the match was in between and all the nervousness and excitement kind of took away my focus...I prepared with FA step 3 and UW(both MCQ and CCS). I think the book was kind of useless, just use FA step 2ck if you still have it. UW was great!!! for both questions and cases! after doing the cases I really felt prepared. UW- scored 58% first time(all specialties, tutorial mode), second time around 75%(re-did only the questions I marked on the first run) UW CCS- did around 60 of the 88 did not take NBME, Kaplan Qbank etc... Now I have to wait for the score...I hope so much that everything went well. I want to be done with this! I am starting residency July 1 and want to have the road clear Wish me luck!

Thanks everybody for the support! @archanavt: I did have one multimedia question, it was heart auscultation, very similar to the one on cd. What else can I advise you? Sleep well before the exam. Make sure you take frequent breaks, esp. on day 1...I needed a venti latte with an extra shot each morning to stay awake and alert the whole day but then again the coffee induced diuresis set in... Just stay calm, if you don't know the answer, pick one and move on! I wish you best of luck!!!

I got only 2-3 questions in biostat. I don't know how many questions in surg and ob/gyn but it was mostly IM...Don't worry, you will do just fine!

Hi medicus_81 Good to know that your exam went fine. My exam was okay. The MCQ s were tough , I didnot have clear cut choices . God only knows what I did ... CCS went okay, like yours. Most of the patients got better except one. Lets see what happens. I am keeping my fingers crossed. Good luck for your score and for residency . Enjoy this time before residency starts...

hey guys, thank you once again for the wonderful posts! taurus82, congratulations to you too for finishing the exam!!! I believe you did just fine. Now we both have to wait 3 more weeks... I really do not care about a high score, just want to pass. maybe that helped me a lot to stay calm and not get too tense. I hope I am not being too self confident....
