Hi,
Can someone please explain what is Step 3 all about, what books will I need? Do people doing different residencies give different step 3 or everybody has the same course content, if I am doing IM residency do I have to read OB, PEDs etc? This might sound stupid but I really do not have any clue. Any help would be highly appreciated.

same course content for all regardless of your chosen field... need to study all subjects... the exam is quite like step two but management is the focus - so clinical judgement and knowledge is examined...
Look in step 3 experience forum for recommended books...
