hi done with cs two days ago, and i have mixed feelings about the exam i did some cases very well and some couldnt finish, this is how i prepared iam a full time doctor with 2 small kids, ,spouse also working full time, i prepared i could say for 3 months first 2 months i used to flip through FA ALONG WITH MY CK BOOKS FOR AN HOUR OR SO OR WHENEVER I GET TIME FAMILIRISED MY SELF WITH THE MATTER , GATHERED MNEMONICS FROM DIGITAL DOCS, made my own mnemonics for some, and the n for 1 month iread only FA AND EXTRA CASES FROM uw, practised for 10 days with my sister, went to houston 2 days before exam , but i lost my baggage during transit thanks to american airlines and marriott houston at grrens point for being irresponsible they said that person is not staying in the hotel ,those two days before exam wher very stress ful i have to stay with my travel clothes couldnt concentrate on my exam ihave to run to air port the night before exam to get my baggage,i took asleeping pill and slept well before my exam , iwore a black pants and formal light colored shirt for exam with very light make up and pearl studs on for my exam i woreblack shoes and socks, center during and procters were nice food is plenty dont carry anything, make sureto use bath room before exam and during breaks also drink some water also you wont get any once exam starts i didnot finish 5 cases in time while i was at the end of PE encounter finished , ididnt write work up for 1 PN , didnt counsel, 6 patients didnt show compassion in all cases , forgot to ask some questoins, my hand writing was not neat,but i didnot panic during encounter, just sweated slightly during first caseafter that i stabilised i was confident made jokes ,smiled a lot with my pts ,my voice wasclear and confident, i tried to shake hands with my last patient who has elbow pain then pt said he has pain i apologised , sp said its ok, again i forgotand tried toshake hands while leaving, then i immediately corrected my self smiled and said i know you have pain in thishand ok i will shake with the other hand SP laughed , other pt looked un happy after the closure so i told her that i will tell the nurse to give medcines toher to make her feel better also i will wait and will be around till x ray films are back since her condition looked serious, she was happy with that and was smiling, i dont even rememember what other mistakes i did i dont know i will pass or fail, what ever it is i will accept and leave the desicion to almighty god, now ihave forget about this any way i should start back my CK prep, that is all for now if any body has Qs i will be very happy to answer, since i benefited so much from this forum now it is my turn . all cases from fa and uw nothing new, SPS WERE NICEAND SMILING

Goodluck with the result.
Which of the two sources you think is better, FA or UW? How would you suggest me to study? I have just 15 days to go. I have a friend available for practice. Till now I am just able to understand the exam layout and reading Minicases and will start practising from tomorrow. I was very confused about the psych history including MMSE and MSE stuff. Can you advise a little on this?

hi yendor thanks for your good wishes, hi old kid, first take look at practice cases in fa and then go to uw make alist of extra cases which are not in fa , then you practice all of them in timed manner including PN, for 10 days , leave rest 5 days for indivisual study read minicases practice cases uw cases again every thing is from uw and fa read them well, regarding psch history and mmse follow what they gave in FA, mse you just mention in work up dont have to do it, hope that will help you GL

sorry for delayed reply , busy reading for ck,hi new 77 including me and my sister there were 4 imgs on day i took exam, hi nyimalay congrats for great score in ck, good luck for your future .
