hi guys
iam getting the date for CS which is in august...like 12th in LA and 18th in ATLANTA...if i take the test in august, will i be able to catch the match 2009?because it takes around 8 weeks for the result...and i dont want to get late in applying..want to apply in early sept...can i apply without CS result...i mean without ecfmg certification?

Hi aqua i saw your post,and i am in the same situation as you are,
i am going to take it august the 13 in chicago and i was wondering if will able to make it for 2009 match ,because i heard that the more your results are incomplete the more you are rejected .I wanted to read Vanilla's post you mentioned but i couidn't get it.Can you give me any idea.

hello fd
i read the post from vanilla and got some advice from my brother..he is doing residency in family medicine...well thats right if you are not ecfmg certified when you have applied for the match, the number of interviews gets affected...its not a hard and fast rule but still some programs do consider certification before sending you an interview...but we will apply still...who knows what we get in fate right...so lets apply in sept and see what happens
i didnt get the date...because my application is still in process and all dates are getting booked...im sooooooooooooooooo worried...dont want to leave this match  ((((((((((

i got 20th august in the begining at atlanta...the earliest date available...but then i sat in front of my computer for a whole day ....waiting if someone cancels his /her appointment somewhere in may or june...and i got lucky...now i have 28th may at houston...if you can travel you should try this as well...you will get a date in may or june definately..

Hi dear aqua thank you.your advise was so effective as you told me i was on the computer all day today i didn't study i was able tuo change my test date july the first Atlanta will be my test center i am so pleased thank you again .

i have been trying hard to find a date for CS for the end of April, anywhere... by the time I got the e-mail from ecfmg, and open the site, it is already booked, in seconds .... is there any other way of "running faster?"

Hi Summer as you already red from my expriance thanks to Aqua i followed the advice and i found the test date earlier .So do stick to the computer visite the site as many times as possible you might find earlier dates .So start looking now.

Hi aqua again yes i am planning to apply this year if every thing goes as i planned it. I am trying my best .It is nice when you do every thing on time you are done with the difficult ones what is remaining is little i am shure you will make it.
i wanted to ask you what is good for last revision for CK i am going to read crush instead of first AID .What do you think?

first aid is bible for step 1..but for CK crush and first aid both are the same...its up to you what you want to use...but i used first aid after giving a reading to crush...i found im more comfortable with FA....step 1 is a test of memorization eg what gene is involved in a specific disese and bla bla...these small points are highlighted in FA very well...so you can revise all the course of step 1 from one book...but in CK your clinical knowlegde is tested which should be strong its a test of understanding a clinical scenerio...so end of my lecture..both are good books...use what ever you are comfortable with...but never change a book in the last days..
