Hi all,,
Am an IMG from india residing in chicago.
Iam planning for a 2009 residency match.
Started studying just yesterday,, got step1 on aug 1st 08. will give CS on aug28, and CK in december...
I know its too late to start out but i will work hard and get to step1 in 4 months.
Anyone else in the similar boat as me?... or who started recently on step1 and aiming for a 2009 match?.
Please reply to this post if anyone seriously interested in planning a schedule and cracking the step1 in approx. 4 month study haul..
I need someone who can prepare an efficient schedule and work on it with me..
Each day at the end we can meet online and discuss what all we have done. and get set to the next day..
If not starting study now,,, i will greatly appreciate if anyone who has already completed study and giving step1 shortly,, who can lend me their study schedule subjectwise or topicwise,, so that i can complete my study in the limited timeframe.
I have kaplan notes and videos,, apart from that i have goljan audio n path notes n 100pages,, kaplan qbook,, high yield for anat, & beh sc. and obviously first aid.
I graduated in november 2007. thought of starting out in jan08 but wasted 3 months due to lack of motivation and thinking that i will try for match2010,,, but then i felt..I CAN DO IT and i've taken my step1 date august1st.
Am a fast learner and was well known for brief study but big marks in my MBBS, but i dont think that would hold true for USMLE but i still wanna try my level best and do it..
Need a partner to keep me motivated in my present situation..
I really wanna give it my best..
Any reply/suggestion/link to any schedule will be greatly appreciated,,

Am attaching a file ,,its a 6weeks study schedule i found on one of the topic on this prep4usmle forums.. Can anyone pls review it and let me know if its good enough. The schedule also says some books which i dont have like Board review Series Path,,, Micro made rid simple,, lippincott biochem,,,, and many others which i dont have. Can anyone send me any working link in .pdf, .doc or .djvu , if they have to any of the books mentioned in this study schedule attached.
Is my prep gonna be too lengthy with Kaplan material???
Please help.....

Shall we start out the same way as this 6 week schedule says..?
What about the books,,, u think we wudnt need kaplan notes?,,, because this schedule doesnt involve any kaplan notes...
We've got 4 months in hand,,, so i have an idea,,, lets first complete the entire syllabus quickly in 6 weeks by this schedule... by doing this we will have gist of everything,,, and later on in the remaining 2 months,, we can do some kaplan alongwith many many questions...

hi,
i don think its a good idea doing FA for 1 n 1/2 months n kaplan 4 2months.
better do kaplan first n step on ur accelerator in the last 2 monts using FA
WHICH video u having?2001 or 2007?
better do 2007 all except biochem
stick to ur schedule study intensely in july if u confident enuf go ahead

Hi , did u check ur e -mail ? I need you to call me so that we can start on time .
I have done step 2 and cs and I passed them both. I know how important it is to have a study partner . I did the same for the two exams previos exams and it really helped me.
If we are diligent enough we can finish the kaplan notes in 2 months . All we need is to set a goal.

I intend making it for the 2009 match. I am aware of the fact that i am beginining late in comparison to most of the aspirants,nonetheless am still aiming for 2009.
I am a newcomer to this forum,and am a lil relieved to find others in a similar situation as me.
I have the kaplan tapes,notes n the goljan notes.
I am aiming at a timeline almost identical to what you have on mind
looking foward to an early reply.
