a man who is undergoing dialysis for chronic renal failure starts recieving erythropoietin therapy. He has a history of type 1 DM, peripheral neropathy and well controlled hypertension. why is exacerbation of hypertension most likely to occur in this patient?

my thinking is that if u have increased epo, then u have increased viscosity, which increases ur resistance, which would cause more hypertension, no?? confused
