All statistics about match are available at this link..... http://www.nrmp.org/data/advancedatatables2008.pd... The stats are unbelievable.....99% of the seats in OB/GYN were filled and of 72% were filled by AMGs....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thanks medmal.. on the other hand the stats from this years don't seem too diferent than those of last year... everything they are comparing to 2004, but really if you compare with last year... is the same thing... Now who many of those IMG who feel the sits are GC/citizens? I think that is where I was left out o well... hopefully next year will be the year for me... what about you medmal? did you match?

Ana, another thing is, I think, many of these 28% were filled with DOs...Most of the programs I interviewed at had a spot to be filled by DOs only. Dunno why though....

you are right! i didn't think about that! now we are competing with DO's too.... neverthought that they would have to fill one spot with do.... anyway.... that is too bad for us

Here is a detailed info from last year: http://www.nrmp.org/data/resultsbystate2007.pdf I hope they are going to release similar report this year as well. Anyway, 120 IMG's matched in ObGyn last year (10% of all ObGyn positions). Looks like we compete not only with AMGs, but also with DOs, US-IMGs, US-MDs and 5th Pathway.

I dont think you can infere that the 28% left was filled with IMGs, actually you would have to take into account D.Os that even if you don't want to hear it are there, and are indeed preferred over international aplicants. Also you need to consider those that are not US senoirs but already physicians say a resident in something else that decided to change... maybe not so many, and then finally the IMGs. My guess is that very few of those positions were filled by us.

this is the real thing.. very sad for people like me 1163 positions offered 1151 positions filled 838 US seniors 31 US graduates 118 osteopatic doctors (OMG) 0 canadian graduates 2 fifth pathway 77 US citizen IMG 85 non US citizen IMG (some of these are GC) unfilled 12 total 7.3% of the applicants are IMGs that need visa (or maybe less)
