Hey - aren't you the ring leader here? I thought for sure you would have started a Psych Match 2008 thread for everyone to summarize their credentials, Green card status, USCE, #IV, and match/prematch results. All the other specialties have one.
Plus you know, I am sad because, although I'm happy you matched into your second choice, I thought you might end up in NY-NJ and I'd get to hear you fret through your PGY-1. Now you will jet off to your fancy job and forget us slobs with the inner city jobs. Alas - you never loved me anyway. You always preferred . . .oh . . .I don't even remember anymore. Its too painful. And I thought NeurotoPsych might wind up at Columbia - pero tampoco!
And did everyone on the forum match to fancy programs? Or did the Emory-Yale-NYU-Harvard starting sequence put a damper on everyone's spirits? There is someone going to Elmhurst, but who will be at Lincoln or Metropolitan or St. Luke's. Did anyone get Bronx Lebanon? What about Trinitas, the new NJ program, who got that?
Anyway, for the sake of posterity, we should start a summary thread for match 2008. Why don't I start it myself, you ask? Oh, well, I'm much too shy for that. I think you should do the honors.

Come on chiqui! You should start it and feel confident that you will have followers!
I know it was very hard for me to decide between Columbia and Emory, but in the end I felt a more friendly atmosphere in Emory, and I am planning on starting a family, and in New York that would have been extremely difficult on a J1 visa ( I am receiveng H1b at Emory!)
By the way what are your plans for this year?

I'll be at UMDNJ-Newark, which, believe it or not, was my first choice. Columbia would have been ideal, but was out of my league.
No, I think Puchpal should start the summary thread so that we can see his name in the "author" column in perpetuity. For me, Puchpal's neurosis flavored the forum and gave it its personality. His anxiety while waiting for interview calls was real, and something I think everyone could relate to on some level, but seemed to generate empathy and a sense of fraternity. When he proceeded to get 7 million interviews you wanted to cheer, and also to smack him upside the head and tell him "I told you so", like you would to a little brother. He remained true to his neurosis through Valentine's day. While he seemed awfully relaxed in the last few weeks, the day before the match he smelled like his old self again. Finally, when he matched to his #2, you again wanted to cheer and smack him like a little bother.
If an Oscar-type ceremony were held for the Psych-match 2008, Puchpal would get my vote for "Best leading man". You, NeurotoPsych, would get my vote for "most intimidating". Your credentials scared me.

anyways , I really feel so so embarrased , I am just a big mouth and keep on saying whatever comes to my mind. Though CMA always tells me to watch my words, but i wont listen to her,
But guys I am a PGY 1 now , so now its hight ime that start behaving in a NTP style dignified manner .  you will teach me bro , wont you?

BTW , Chiqui , the current apartment where I am staying is 2 miles
from UMNDj , and I shall be coming to this area again to get my luggage
before ai head of to the number 1 crime city of USA.

Even in crime you beat me! NJ has Camden, which I believe has the 2nd highest crime rate in the country. Newark is up there, too, but I don't know where. Fortunately I won't be living in Newark. You will probably be long gone by the time I reach the states. I won't be relocating back to the states until June 15. Orientation starts June 16!
I don't know what NTP Style is, but if you can't act like yourself, what would be the fun. Psychiatrists get to be a little quirky and neurotic (around everyone except the patients, of course). You wouldn't be puchpal if you weren't the way you are. Then there wouldn't be a puchpal and we would have no flavor on this forum and then someone else, some boring person, would have to pretend to be all anxious and stressed out just to keep the forum going. But we would know he was just humoring us, and we wouldn't fall for it, and then the whole forum would fall apart and we would have to go over to the Dermatology or ENT forums just for shits and giggles. I'm sure I wouldn't find a little brother in a Derm or ENT forum, so I would end up being an only child and would be obnoxious and no one would like me, so I would be terrible at the interviews and wouldn't have landed a position. So, you see, I need you to keep being you. I think you'll be a hit in Detroit. Does it snow much where you are from?
