My PTAL does not have an expired date. Once you matched to a program for residency, you'll then submit the registration form to the California board, and the process is complete. Hope that helps.

The person handeling my PTAL said its valid for an year i.e. u need to give it to the program where u matched and they'll send it after filling it up. Suppose if u dont match or dont apply for match and the application is Inactive for an year, then u need to call them up and make the status active for an year. But for the next year i.e. the 3rd yr of possessing PTAL and no residency, u might need to process it again. If my explaination is confusing, then u can always call up the CA Medical board to find out.
