Is a L.O.R. from a researcher in a reputed university with many years of experience of value if the researcher does not have a M.D.degree but is into medical research??? any info is appreciated. thanks

if you desperately need that reference, go for that. Having one is better than none. And if that reference tells the most wonderful candidate in the whole world, it will definitely be better than a MD letter that describling an average candidate.
