Maybe someone can interpret this logically, but this doesnt seem to bode well for future residents/doctors. Less money allocated to teaching hospitals means less residents in the future, and MORE work for residents already in the program. Next year might be very tough for the applicants. Wasn't it the AMA that was always reporting physician surplus when actually there was physician shortage.So it is backfiring on them.Look it this way.A time will come when there will be acute physician shortage here and then every tom,dick and harry will be hired for residency.This is currently happening in nursing.
