hi guys
i matched in Int Med. to a program that has posted on website that it sponsors H1 and mentioned that its expmted from H1 cap too...
and i was stating on my profile of application that i need H1 only...
i ranked that hospital cuz it gives the visa i want
but when they contacted me by email to send the contract they told me that they can only sponsor J1 now!!!
i sent them back and told them that i passed step 3 since Jan and my application was updated since then and was downloaded by their program
and i'm still waiting their response...
i think this is kind of violation to post false info on thier website....and if they arent going to give me the visa i want why did they rank me?
if they insisted on J1 should i contact NRMP regardin that issue??? or wt should i do?

don't panick just yet... wait till their response... they ranked you so obviously, they want you and hopefully will try everything in their power to accomodate you..

What visas were talked about during interviews? Did you specifically mention during that time that you were only interested in a H visa? As we all know, web sites frequently have old or outdated information.

and special thanks for you bbb.....
actually we didnt talk about the visa issue during the interview but in my application i chose H1 only....so when i matched with them i was sure that they are going to offer me H1 as they posted on their website.....
and by the way i've no problem with J1 itself...the problem is that i'm not sure if i can get the "statment of need" from ministry of health of my home country cuz im a resident in University hospital and university hospitals are not sponsored by ministry of health so i'm wondering if i can i get this statment of need from my university hospital instead of ministry of health?????
cuz if i couldnt get this piece of paper then i can't obtain J1 visa!!
and for that reason i took my step 3 in difficult circumstances in Dec. to have its score avilable with me from Jan. to ask for H1....(so situation here isn't just my preferance for H1 over J1....its about i may not be able to get J1 which is offered cuz of this statement of need!!!)
