I think it had to do a lot with the pressure build up in the ventricles which caused the Mitral valve to close early than tricuspid cos the left ventricular pressure is greater than right ventricular pressure therefore it takes more time. or let me put it another way the LV is capable of reaching high pressures faster than the RV therefore it closes early.
