can someone lookup the violence/crimes reporting ?
"HIPAA in which doctors are mandated to report gunshot wounds and are also required as medical professionals to report suspected child and elder abuse, and rape. What about:
- stab wounds >> person comes in stabbed, says doesnt want to report ?
- child comes in stabbed >> report to who: social, police, social+police?
- motor vehicle crash >> likely police already involved but...
- person comes in with symptoms drunk refuse blood alcohol labs >> says ok i'm leaving , long drive home >> detain/call police/detain+call police/let go
- person comes in intoxicated with something - says " i just killed my friend, shot him in the head" >> call police? detain +call police?
- person comes in intoxicated/delirious/hallucinating - says " i just killed my friend, shot him in the head" >> call police? detain +call police?
- person comes in gunshot wound to foot , says "i just shot my cat" >> call police? detain +call police? let go because its just a cat?
- person comes in gunshot wound to foot , says "i accidentally shot my cat !!!" >> call police? detain +call police? let go because its just a cat? let go because it was an accident.
- person comes in with gunshot wound to foot, says "i accidentally shot myself, i was cleaning the gun" >> call police / treat and let go
if you have any ideas & information please add.
