Dear friends [many old, many new], I've climbed the lowest, and they say the toughest step up the ladder. The air's lighter up here, I can't breathe.....Aaach...Oh, must be the hallowed company here!
Well, I've left the chapter called Step 1 behind, for good, with a decent score. Will certainly improve on my CK numbers. I have much respect for those prepping for Step1, coz I know how easy it is NOT!
I am looking to take this test asap. I've managed to watch most of the Kaplan 2CK vids, had to use those 3 harrowing weeks wisely, you see! Anyway, I buy UW tomorrow, and hit the ground running hard. Please somebody tell me this can be done in 3 months! I so need your support.
P.S. I have known the name of my 2CK prep journal for so long, and now I actually created it!! Feels gooood!

Ohhhhh....u are already here....just saw ur score .......Welcome and lets continue .....thats great that u have already finished watching the vdos...i watched only cardio files..dont have anything else.....so u taking UW now only ?? thats nice..i too took UW last wk with first read......i am not being able to study everyday ..for a reason.....will share with u later
but now..i guess we dont have time to waste anymore....my exam is on 7th May.......wen r u taking ??

I'm also planning to take CK real soon, coz got my CS in June, and I ideally want to finish CK before that. Really need you help and support, man. Of course, I offer the same.

Ok, what did I do today? Allowing the fact that Step 1 is behind me, sink in real nice. I'm red-eyed from lack of sleep last night, but that's ok. Watched a few hrs of video today. I'm planning to finish with the vids once, real fast, then concentrate on KLN and UW. Gonna use it with Crush. I've read around here that it's a good review source, so I'm happy.
So, what's the general opinion on Goljan's CK audio lectures? Worth the time? Or should I skip them altogether? Or maybe I just reserve it for jogging time?

They prolly want me to get over Step 1 first. Coz I still find myself spending a lot of my time in Step 1 threads, before I realize, 'Hey, move on!' I'm still looking for my groove here. Most of my buddies are quite close to their test already. It's like Step 1 all over again! I'm homesick!! Feyz, 25th? Awesome. Form 26th onwards, I'm willing to switch places with you, and you can get back to books! Again! 
I've been reading some Crush. I'm trying to get familiar with it. I'm not likely to repeat the mistake I made with FA in Step 1, of reading it only 2 weeks prior to my test. Cost me big. So, gonna do it right this time. Also, I've begun with UW. Score's not much to write home about, esp since I'm currently on my zero-th read. Again, it's a weak spot I'm eliminating, coz I did UW too too late in Step 1. No wonder my score is so average. But, not for CK.

I am glad to see that spirit paheli. A nice score in ck will get you for sure many interviews. i think it is wise to spend time in UW and learn from it. Don't miss any single question. Good luck to you!!!

Hello Paheli and guys in prep journals,
I start preparing for ck last year but putted aside for personal reasons till january this year when I start studying again.
I'm done with first reading of kaplan lectures and since I better studing from algorithmics and short straight foward notes, what I did while doing this first review was to make those notes in FA book, a personal notebook and Step up to medicine book using the kaplan notes 's information that wasn't in those other books...kind of making my own super review books. Now I'm about to start UW and planning also to watch the videos.
I'm telling you guys all this story because I need your advice...I'm out of study mode and even thought I tried hard to concentrate I can't..it's so frustrating..I feel I can't come out with a good plan...that's the main reason to do the videos now. I've been reading your journals and saw how supportive and inspirational you are, and I was wondering if you can help me telling me about your approach to the material..how you think is the best way to do it? How you divide your daily study time between notes, videos and UW?

njcjzy, thanks so much for dropping a line, If you don't mind my asking, please tell me what your name's about. It's pretty darn hard to type, and I've always wanted to ask. Maybe there'll be others who may want to know too!
veroni14: welcome to the club, the warmest you'll ever find on the net. You just need to push yourself to pick up the books. Enlist your family support if possible. Have you finished with Step 1 yet? Coz I feel that much of CK is drawn from Step 1. Do consider starting your own journal, it acts as an immense source of support from others, and guilt [from yourself, if you have not met your targets.] Of course, you're welcome to post as often as you like on my journal, as well. Think of a goal date by which you want to take the test. And, you've got to stick with it. Are you planning to go for Match 09? If so, just watching the deadline applications approach may make you get cracking [It's working for me!] I hope I've helped, I hope others here can add their bit, as well. Alsp, PM me if you need anything. P.S. Don't watch all the videos, you'll waste your time. At least, you can skip Surg and Peds, they only read from the KLN. Don't miss Conrad Fischer's IM lectures. And, starting UW is an EXCELLENT idea. All the very best! Once you get the fire, you're gonna be unstoppable!

Thank you so much Paheli for your response...someone told me that for the videos I should only do medicine, gyn & psych....any other good enought?
Also dr ruman experience post better to do subjectwise revision of UW, them reread the LN of that system..so I going to take that approach adding also the videos I mentioned..Again thanks I feel already energized
