How odd and weird... just goes to show you that from our end there is no rhyme or reason to this process... however it also shows that they have so many applicants that they can pick and choose whoever they want on seemingly arbitrary reasons!

well I got similar experience I called to one Internal Medicine P program who told me they considered me if I have and advanced position , later I applied to a neurology advance position and I got this e mail: Do you have a preliminary year arranged yet? We will not be able to consider your application otherwise

I got an email today , after the usual blah blah was this,
'
Please do not call to check up on your application as the number of calls
coming into the residency is impacting patient care.

You don't really want to get into program where PD's phone is located in the clinic's corridor, do you?

Well similar thing happened with me too, i called in one of the programs and after asking me about visa whic i have green card, they asked me when were u ECFMG certified ? i said AUGUST 2007 and they replied we are considering applicants ho are certified in December 2007 i mean that was the most ridiculous criteris i had ever heard of

Guys.... lets just find soemthing else to do for this year..... there are no IMG succesful scramble stories  I am sad too. but lets face it. scramble is not for us

Read between the lines they are just saying to you
We do not like IMG's or ist not us is you we do not like.

The logic is: The unfilled programs don't want applicants who were unsuccessful with regular match. ( if you were certified before Dec 2007, you probably were able to apply for some programs before most program's deadlines); They are hoping to catch some people were too late to be in this season's match. make sense?

I got certified in Dec 07, but have been getting only rejections since day 1 of scramble. I think scramble is all a hoax.
