What is the likelihood of that the programs scramble you in without phone call/interview? Can it be that tomorrow one logs into NRMP site and sees that he matched into a program he sent his application during scramble?

I don't think that happens ... they all have filled their spots with lazy americans that needed to have a place 'to match'
sramble is not designed for us... if you dont believe it chek this email out.

>Dear Dr. -------:
>
>I hope you remember me. I went in January to your office to ask you to
>please put a good word for me in the OB/GYN dept since I was applying to
>residency there.
>Now I am asking you again to please help me, yesterday I learned that I
>did not match to any position, and the feedback I got from the interview
>process is that I don't have a way to show that I will be a good clinician
>since I only have 6 months experience in the US. Now ------- has five
>preliminary surgery positions that would give me the chance to show that I
>am a great clinician, but I think I am going to need help from a faculty
>member to be able to get that chance. I am ready, with my ERAS already in
>their hands and also have the print out of everything, Do you think you
>can help me putting again a good word for me?
>My AAMCID is ----
>
>thanks in advance,

And his response was:

The match happened a few days before your email. I believe the system
is that any programs that look like they're not going to match are
given that information a couple days in advance so they can fill
outside the match. I would think that Monte would have filled its
prelim spots through the match and also any unfilled positions
already, before you sent me your email, but I will ask their program
director

It's hard to believe that this person knows what he says.

I spoke to my friend who is a PD in pathology, and he said that him personally did not know if his program have all spots filled with the matched applicants.

What I also know is that many PDs start contacting other PDs on a day when results of match/not match are announced, to help their students who did not match. That's how we saw 90 unfilled spots in Peds on Monday night, and only ~60 on the scramble day, right after the system opened...

sorry bbb, I meant medical students that are not in medicine moved by passion but moved by money. the ones that do not caregrin

I also emailed, faxed and called up people like crazy, but things didn't happen.

Now i feel the SCRAMBLE is an uphill task if you need a visa.

Many programs say that they are looking into the applications and shall decide in a short while. Some of them even took small interviews on phone. When is the earliest that we can expect to hear from them, If at ll its going to happen?

So, you got a call today? What program was it from?

Hey I disagree with some of the opinions here. Match is a very fair process. Progrmas find out of unmatched positions the same time the candidates find out of thier matched status.

PDs do have that advantage which I guess they can use to thier benefit considering they might already have candidates waiting to get matched.

I did not have luck at all. I got to speak to some people who refused me because of my visa status. I will need to get sponsorship.

I am now planning to better my chances for next year. To think of it August isn't that far at all.

Good luck to all.

I continue calling all day long and still nothing happens , a couple of questions like VISA STATUS,usmle scores ,number of attempts, in one program but they told me that they will review the application and after they'll call me , but Its 5 p.m now and I haven't receive any call , Should I continue calling and calling to answer machines ???
