WHAT BRANCHES IS USMLE NOT A MUST.

If you want to work not as a physician but as a kind of reseach person in pathology or other medicine related area you don't need USMLE or residency. Of course, your salary will not be in the physician range.
If you want to be a physician, write an MD after your name and have appropriate salary you need to pass USMLE and go through residency.

Hi! I'm an IMG from Spain and I'm gonna take the USMLE exams, but due to the fact that it's too late to enroll at any hospital next summer, I'd REALLY like to know how can I do it to do kind of an externship during next summer in a hospital in the States. If you do know any hospitals I could contact to and the way I should do that, pls. tell me ASAP!
