I am having some problem trying to understand the registration procedure.

I heard we can apply for residency programs as late as february of the year we are planning to join.
The ERAS registration starts in July and have to submit our documents. If we haven't completed all the steps before that can we still register and provide the scores later?

please help.

The more complete the application on September first, the greater the chances for interviews.

hi arlete.. thanks for the info.
guess will try to adjust my schedule.. but is it possible to get good programs if we complete later than sep. wat is the minimum time between taking two steps ( between step 1 and step 2 and between ck and cs)

I agree with arlete that the earlier you apply, the better. And I would add the famous bbb saying: apply as early as you can with an as complete application as you can. Yes, there are people who still got IVs with a score missing or pending ECFMG certification but you will maximize your chances by getting everything done by mid September. In my case the last IV invitation I got was mid October! Anything in my MyEras mailbox afterwards was a rejection.

There is no recipe of how much time you need to get all steps done (or at least step 1 and 2ck)...depends on your knowledge, time you can devote to studying, what score you are aiming for...One advice I have is to get step 2 cs out of the way as early as possible since it takes the longest to get the results (in some cases 3 months) and it's hard to get a spot the more you wait.

Good luck!
