whats the doubt mukho?im just saying peds is not that easy neither is it that hard....but for a person to get in any university of their choice is absurd....esp for an img from india or any asian country....esp for recent grads...do u not agree??here r the list of img friendly universities i got with my credz...... suny stony brook suny buffalo suny downstate penn state university nymc westchester albany east carolina university wayne state university utmb austin umdnj newark and camden i didnt apply to midwest for ur info...didnt like the weather there :}.......and florida is img friendly for latin imgs which i urge to apply there.....cuz of spanish speaking population........uf gainesville is pretty good university........univ like baylor will call people who have done residencies or places linked to baylor like aga khan university........this is my experience and a few others who have gone thru 2008 match...............

My confusion was regarding ayyads so called 'bubble'...i know it is not easy for an IMG to get in anywhere by choice but who said that here?? Definitely not ayyad coz he/she sounds nervous bout even his/her chances to residency!!(which of course is a bit absurd because his/her chances are one of the brightest u can have) i agree with what u have written...at least to the extend my knowledge goes...

Sometimes I think we people dont raise our hopes high enough...of course its good to know reality...but if u look at where people matched this year (on the forum thread) there are some really good places.... But imgped, u are most welcome into this forum and especially peds as there is always place for more seniors here ...I am from India (if that what u wanted to know?!) And all the best to ayyad in whatever and wherever u want...(sorry for kind of discussing u behind ur back!! )

He, i think, was talking about the residency program in his own country. Like he applying here for a better future and will leave them when and if he gets in. Like keeping his options open for US. Justice i so totally agree with you on counts.

Agree with this. Many IMGs tend to underestimate their chances and undersell themselves. Places that seem impossible like CHOP, Johns Hopkins, Children's Boston, Baylor all have IMGs. Although chances are less the fact is that there is a chance. So like how mukho would have liked to put it; "It is good to have one's feet well grounded, but that doesnt mean you have to give up on the stars" ...or something like that

Hi, i don't know why but i feel that geting a residency in US is like a dream, i wish it would come true!1 do u think that its that hard like me or not? cuz i have to make many decisions depending on the fact that i may not have the chance to get matched....
