1.if a pt drinks one beer per day

2.if pt drinks occasionally on weekends(wat if the pt is diabetic)

do we ask CAGE qs n also is it req to do alc counselling??

yes,if Alcohol is risk factor for specific dieseases, .---Must CAGE questionaire.

1. DM-diabetic peripheral neuropathy
2. ESOPHAGEAL TEAR
3 HEPATIC FAILURE

4 PANCREATIC cancer
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
SMOKING- as risk factor

1. Stroke
2.COPD
3 PUD
4 Bladder cancer
5 pancreatic cancer
6 cervix cancer

I did CAGE for any patient that drank any amount of alcohol at all. And if the patient told me he used marijuana, I made sure that was the only type of drug he used.
