Hello everybody! I am looking for the most appropriate study materials for step2 ck..I've been a bit puzzled since I've heard so many different oppinions. 1) Is F.A that bad for step2? Almost everybody told me not to go through it cos it is so much worse than F.A step1. 2) Kaplan lecture notes: sufficient? 3) About int medicine: Should I prefer Kaplan, Step Up or Boards and Wards? 4) I only have 4 months to prep for step2...do you think it's enough? Does anybody else feel that Kaplan notes are really dense or is this only my impression? I'm studying surgery notes and my daily progress is just so slow... Thanx in advance!!

hi, i think kap int med is not sufficient. try adding step up to medicine which is more complete .rest kaplan notes are ok.anyways u can fill in the gaps with uw or any review book. both fa and boards and wards are good maybe fa is a bit too dense and it doesnt cover surgery..

LN for base of study, FA for last reading, uw is a must. That was my equation.

I heard the new version of FA is good. I used old version, and abondoned it half way, with feeling that it was not that helpful. Many successful stories said Kaplan notes and UW would be sufficient. I substitute Kaplan notes with Kaplan Qbank. It worked out well. The key thing is to repeat and remember and apply.

njcjzy thank you for your input! i think i finally won't do FA...i will follow the gold standard : Lecture notes and UW....and maybe some adjunct from step up to medicine. I don't have much time..so, only the absolutely necessary materials.. thanx again!

THANX drnaik! you said ''nothing turned up in the main exam''...what exactly do you mean? was it all so tricky in the real exam??...or you just mean it was easier than UW? I mean..what would u suggest me paying more attention to? thanx again!
