Hello forum members. Today I finally gathered the courage to start this journal. I say courage because this journal will follow my progress in the battle for a 99 on Step 1. So in essence this a declaration to myself and to others that my time starts now. I want to take the exam by mid May. I've done half of Kaplan Physio. I'll be using Kaplan for everything. Except maybe Micro/Immuno. In the past there have been many an obstacle in my taking the exam. And I've actually taken it once. But it was more or less against my will and I was seriously underprepared. But that was the past. I have the present to build the future I want for myself and those I love. I would like to dedicate this journal to all of you who have the kindness and compassion to help a stranger in need, and the wisdom to guide a peer. In particular it is a dedication to Kalyann, Starbrite and others whose advice motivated me immensly to write this journal, to get my prep going, and basically to have the courage to tackle the beast that this exam is. Thank you guys. Okay so now the plan is to do my readings and notes by April 15th, after that I start UW questions with revision of my notes. I plan to do the first and second read of the subjects together. Basically, I survey a chapter, then read it without taking notes. The third time I read the chapter while taking notes. It's a slow process, but I think that's what works for me. I will be posting in this journal as I meet my milestones.
The plan for tomorrow March 17 is to do Autonomic Pharmacology, respiratory physio, and maybe last section of kaplan pharm. This includes all the readings I mentioned earlier.
In this endeavor, friends, I need your help. I ask you to guide me if I am headed in the right direction. I welcome all your suggestions. So I hereby start my prep with a prayer to the All Mighty, and to my spiritual guide His Holiness Sudhanshuji Maharaj. May God grant me the strength, the wisdom I need, and the success I wish to achieve.
