So In one wy I'm kind of new for this area of medicinesmiling face
I have several questions so please share what ever you know:

1- I got 64% and 74% in Qbook for this area, how bad is that? I think people might be scoring in the 80's for qbook right?

2- How many questions are in the real exams from this subject? How low yield is it?

3- Is kaplan enough for this topic and secrets?

4- In the NBME do they ask about how many questions from this topic? 5-6 questions for each block?

What do I need to focus in this area? what is important or HY

Thank you

I have been trying to answer your questions but only now that i have finished exam and can give some reasonable response.

1- I got 64% and 74% in Qbook for this area, how bad is that? I think people might be scoring in the 80's for qbook right?
Yes. I think so. I did Q book after one reading of Kaplan lecture note and got 75-85. So Kaplan alone helps much.

2- How many questions are in the real exams from this subject? How low yield is it?
According to my exam, it is quite common like 5-8 questions per block including psyche, ethic, substance abuse.

3- Is kaplan enough for this topic and secrets?
I read both. Can tell confidently they are enough and contain very good concepts.

4- In the NBME do they ask about how many questions from this topic? 5-6 questions for each block?
As far as i remember, yes 5-6.

What do I need to focus in this area? what is important or HY

I would suggest to give particular attention to differential diagnosis in Kaplan Notes.
Try how to differentiate some very related conditions.
For example,

1. Normal grief / Adjustment do / Acute stress do
2. Alzheimer / normal aging / depression
3. Schizophrenia / psychotic symptoms in Adjustment do or mood do or Depression or substance related.

I will try to add more if i can.

gogeta listen if you think your psy part is weaker , strengthen it. i would recommend you 2 memorize psyh chapter of STEP1 (2007 or later) First Aid. word by word. It has everything believe me.

than augment it with kaplan step2 psy book. write notes on FA (of step1 psy chapter)

if you wish to practice questions do it from pretest psy ( do only the part that you think is your weaker area ) eg schizos, personality disorders etc.

i hope this helps.
