i'm a old grad with no clinical experience....no interview this yr...i found that there were a lot of surgery prelim positions unfilled last yr......i don't have any experience in surgery.....what if i take a surgery prelim.........for US clinical experience.........

Why not... you obtain USCE and will be able to sustain urself in US with soem $$$.
If you are interested in medicine later,,, you will have to find a good reason for switch & for choosing surgery earlier. It is a known fact that surgery is a pyramid and progression into a categorical program for a IMG is difficult.
