I am a FP PGY-1, but my program decided not to renew my contract for PGY-2. So options are as follow:
1. Scramble for a PGY-1 position, for FP, IM, and most hopefully, ER
2. Search for a PGY-2 position in other FP programs.
My program director is very mean and would not write a good recommendation letter for me. I am afraid that my experience will never get me anywhere. I want to secure a PGY-1 position first before I search for a PGY-2 position. I wonder if it is OK NOT to put my PGY-1 experience on my CV when I scramble for PGY-1 position? Can someone find out about it? Thank you for replying.

the pgy-1 experience will help u alot to search for any year of resisdency as it's counted as USCE...i suggest u write that in ur cv...but be prepared that the program's will ask u why your program wouldn't accept u for pgy-2 so have a good convincing answer....i know someone who completed 3 yrs of residency in FM & then they went into radiology, but his scores were really good. ...& u also wnat to serach for prgrams that allow 2nd residency or in your case atleast 1 extra year than a normal residency as otherwise the program won't hire u b/c they won't have funds to pay for your one extra year as u had been paid for 1 year by ACGME or whoever's responsible to pay the residents...so u better confirm that part.

Ya it is a difficult situation
but to be very frank and honest i would like to know about the
problems ( or the things the PD thinks are problems ) with you,
which are leading to the non renewal of the contract?
lets discuss it over the private message , if this platform looks too public.
I would try to help you as much as I can with the info that, i may have
Though i am not a resident yet , but i have a close friend who switched program

hi,
i have a friend who has got matched to a FM this year, but wants to do IM or is interested in doing fellowships available for IM people. any advise would be great

that is sooo absurd!!!...if ur friend didn't wanna go for FM why did he/she rank that program....now they deprived o a genuine FM candidate of 1 position who went unmatched this year!!!!! & now he's thinking of changing specialties!!!!...i just don't approve of those kind of peopel...sorry if i sound rude or bad!!!
