Hi fellows.

Good luck fellows in ur search for residency. I am 12 yr old grad . Should i take usmle now. I want to apply for int. medicine in future. I failed one step one in oct. 1996 but then i never appeared again. should i declare my ATTEMPT IN application as ecfmg doesnt have record for 7 yr old scores

they have ALL your scores even old old ones.And it will show on the final transcript.So be truthful

I am a graduate of 1994. Last failed attempt was in 1997 but passed after 10 years i.e last year. Yes, they have their records and ALWAYS BE TRUTHFUL. And yes you can go ahead with USMLE if you have still the passion for it, Its never too late.

thanks all. i should pass and pass and be honest now iam on my feet but i should have chair to study.

IM is residency with highest number of IMGs throughout the country.... so, with IM you have (statistically speaking) highest rate in probability to have your chance.... especially if this is what you want to do.... do you?

ECFMG record is just available for 5 years since your first exam result but as with the best of my knowlege, if you re-apply for exam, your old record will be recovered. In addition, Step 1,2 CK, CS and Step 3 must be finished within 7 years, if expired you must resume all exams.
