Thank you antidepressant for stopping by. Completed a test in Rapid Review, secured 58%! Better than last time! Need to improve. I wonder where they come up with some creative physiology graphs, i couldnt find in any of the books i read!! Will have to climb the mountain, one step at a time with a firm foot in the ground.

Started RBC chapter in RR, going well so far. Heard corresponding Goljan lectures simultaneously.

Thank you match2010 for stopping by and your words of encouragement.

I did not have a productive day yesterday. I had a bad cold and was feeling miserable, because of drinking a couple of ice cold coke!! I should be more careful in what i take in future as the exam gets closer.

Completed RBC chapter. Started WBC chapter in RR.

  #33

Yesterday was yet another crappy day with the cold and malaise. No more coke!!! May be i will lose a few pounds. Slept a lot of hours. Managed to finish WBC chapter in RR. Lagging behind on schedule big time. I will be out of town on a work related conference from tomorrow through wednesday - BIG GAP IN STUDIES.

The only way i can finish RR based on my new schedule is to read the text while listening to the lectures - This is not what Dr. Goljan suggests but will try to see how it works.

All the best for everyone's prep. Will touch base later next week.

  #34

Hang in there. You are doing great compared to me. I am way way way behind my schedule. We will make this happen. I am coming back furiously. Good luck to us.

Finally back home from work-related conference. Need to catch-up a lot at work and off work. Will update my plan and progress later today.

Good luck everyone. Will also drop by praying4a99.

Completed Hemotology in RR yesterday. Will start CVH Patho today. Will have to reevaluate on sunday, if it is feasible to complete Goljan RR this sunday as planned. My wife has promised to support my studies during weekends by taking out the kids somewhere so that i could get a few hours of study. Will see how that works this weekend.

Need to catch up pace. Also, need to complete the last test in RR this weekend.

  #38

hi Simon, you are doing great, i am inspired by your determination. Keep going buddy.smiling face

My wife kept her end of bargain. I was able to grab quite a few hours of study yesterday. Started hearing Goljan lectures and simultaneously reviewing the text, as this is the only way i will be able to complete the first read as per schedule. So much information in the text thats not covered in the lectures, will have to come back and read during my systemwise revision. Completed CVH, RS on friday. Completed GI, Hepatobil. and Renal yesterday. Have to do Gyn, Endo etc. today!! Lets see how the day goes.

I plan to start my second revision starting tomorrow hopefully. This will be a systemwise review. Also have to do a block of questions everyday until the day before exams, after coming home from work and read the explanations before dinner time. This is the plan, lets see how it works.

Lets keep on rolling everyone.

  #40

Had a good day yesterday in studies. Still have musculoskeletal and skin topics to cover in RR Goljan, will do it today. This will put me a day behind in schedule. I hope that i have retained some in my attempt to listen and simultaneously read Goljan to make up for the schedule. Will do a block of questions this evening and also lay-out a plan for second read.

  #41

hi Simon, you did great in the weekend, mine is weekend off, so i have to study a lot to cover that. happy studying friend.nod

Hello Simon, good to see your progress. I am glad that you were able to study as planned during the weekend inspite of your work and family obligations. You will definitely reap the benefits of your dedicated hard work.

Success is sweet, but its secret is sweat!

  #43

Thank you antidepressant and veteran for your kind words.

Yesterday did a block in rapid review and scored 62%! Started my second read yesterday as planned. Started with Behavioral science, hoping to finish by Friday, lets see how it goes.

  #44

Wow I feel like a crap. Your exam is in August & already doing 2nd revision? GREAT! Now I need to really study harder. Keep going though! You are doing a marvelous job!
Are you done with UW or still planning to do it?(sorry I did not read your whole journal).
Good luck!!

  #45

Keep it up Simon! nod

  #46

Thank you luck08 and veteran for your kind words.

luck08, i wouldnt say that i finished my 1st revision, i would say i finished my first reading! i guess we all have different yardstick to measure our progress and our retaining capability is also different hence it is hard to compare. I havent done UW yet, i plan to do it in June/July. Currently working on Kaplan Q book.

Yesterday, did a block in Kaplan Q book Pathology and scored 54%! I thought i had a good grasp in Patho, Oh, well! I will keep it going. Also reading Behavioral science as planned, hoping to finish by the end of the week.

  #47

Continuing on track with behavioral science. Felt sleepy while listening to lectures, need to work on that area. Did a block in Q book and secured 66%. Moving along after a break for a week. Also growing a beard, used to have clean shaved face. Wanted to grow a beard for a long time but waited to finish the work related trip to do that. Last time, i had a beard was during my final year of med school while preparing for the final exams!! Good reading everyone.

  #48

What a bummer - scored only 44% in a block yesterday?!!! Need to re-evaluate my study strategies.

Still reviewing behavioral science and strolling along.

Have a good study everyone.

Keep it up. If you have to readjust your study plan, then go for it, you won't regret it in the long run.
