Assalamu alaikum everyone.
My first time in this forum.Read through few prep journals and sounds so inspiring decided to start one for me.....
So, here I am..with a poor score of 80 in step 1(Studied for 3 months, and passed with first attempt...doesn't think program directors will count that!!), IMG from Bangladesh.Planning to give step 2 CK by June/July....CS before September.Have to match for 2009 Residency.......Please Allah make it easy for me..Ameen.
So I am starting with Kaplan and UW q's( will buy it today).For step 1 I used UW ...but after studying for first time.So if you guys have any advice how should I make the maximum use of that please please do let me know.
Resources: Kaplan books+ Videos(2001)...Current medical Diagnosis and treatment(2008, for back up information) + UW +First Aid( haven't used it in step 1,so planning to use it for step 2)
Today : March 13, 2008 ...target date End of June.
Starting with : Internal Medicine : Infectious Disease
Please allah give me the strength , patience and confidence to go through this path.

Thanks Simi for your words.Yeah this is my first read.I am listening to kaplan lectures,conrad fischer is sooooooooo good.I guess first time read is gonna take some time.....half way through infectious disease....these genital infections and their treament always confuses me 
Inshallah will try to finish this by tonight and will do usmle world questions.
So how did you study for IM?Inshallah after finishing IM ,maybe You can tell me how to read for Surgery......Lets keep in touch...wish you all the best..may allah make it easy for us.Ameen.

and my score is 79 ...and a 198/79 , would be 80 with only 2 points more aarrrrggghhh ! that really annoys me at times ... anyways ...

I was struggling wid many things...still no excuse for not studying according to plan.
Cardiology: finished from Kaplan..will do qs from UW everyday..25 qs..will write down the imp info in the book..so it will stick to my memory.
Learnt a lot stuff about cardio..so have to keep revising.....now 25 uw qs.

hehe ... you say bot 79 and 80 sucks ha ?  k...kidding... if we dont lose our belief and hope , and score better in CK , hopefully we will be in some programm some day

Will study Psychiatry now to take my mind off from cardio...will do it again maybe in the evening...

Infectious disease UW qs...68%...learnt a lot about AIDS...tomorrow will do qs from pulmonology...and cardio...hopefully this time it would be better.

So far ,from Internal medicine first time read + Kaplan videos
Rheumatology, Preventive Medicine, Cardiology,Infetious disease,Pulomonolgy.
Tomorrow will study inshallah
1.Hematology
2.Emergency Medicine
Day after tomorrow Gastroenterology
Then will catch up with psyciatry again.
Psychiatry should be done with 5 days (including doing questions)
will do IM qs every morning for 2 hours while studying psychiatry...
After Psychiatry-
OB-GYN....I can do it,if Allah allows me and be with me

hi heartblock...howz study going on....i finished obg n psyc....but still 5hrs of lectures remaining to listen in psyc...will do it later...will start with paeds today...but today i don't think i will have productive day....hey ur scores r good in uw....after paeds i will start with qs...have a good day

done wid endocrinology....UW qs 70%..and all credit goes to kaplan lectures...he is really good ...endocrine lecture is a must I guess......now I am way behind my schedule...have to catch up.....motivation...motivation

It's been a while..wasnt able to study...I am not going to waste my time thinking about it..registered for August.GYN1st time...the video is really really good. Will do Uw GyN qs now.
Tomorrow will be medicine Hematology(as I keep forgetting,so I have decided to study the things I have read before ) and start with Paeds.It's a whole new thing for me..but I know I can do it....and I will....

Registered for August....inshallah....
now studying Paediatrics....kaplan video and lecture notes....will try to do 3 lecs everyday...so paed june 18- June 23 should be done........
Will do it...I know I can...till I have blood in myself,till I am able to dream..I will....
