i know the situation is different in different programs. but seriously do PC's have any power to get any candidate matched or ranked highly. i know they can help you get an interview but after that isn't it your interview performance and your application as a whole?

But the entire time that you are interviewing, even if it's at dinner the night before, it's part of your "performance". If someone's behavior is off, or if I notice someone using their IM feature on the cell phone during the interview process, or something that shows that they are just going through the motions, my observations should count. And usually it is noticed by the PD or chief resident also.

I have a story to tell , should do , if I get matched ,

To bbb,
I know the whole time a candidate is there for an interview, lunch, dinner etc... behavior counts. Personally I found PC’s, faculty, residents to be very friendly almost everywhere I interviewed. and it was so natural to be nice with them as well.
My question was purely about a PC's power in ranking process or in getting someone a residency spot. Although this started as a funny thread, I just got curious and asked this question.
I should have mentioned in my earlier post that I am aware of the fact that if you are not behaving properly at the interview, it can affect you in a wrong way.
Thanks anyways

personally, even if it was at Brigham or Mayo or John Hopkins, I don't see any program director refusing the ardent cries of a faithful and hardworking pc who is only asking for one spot, one spot in a residency program, common pd are also human you know?

unfortunately for me all my pc's where i interviewed were so steeped in the eras process they would not have noticed me even if i waltzed across their desks NAKED
