Hi! I graduated from a medical school in India. Three months are over and they still haven't released our MBBS degree diplomas. I asked a bunch of my classmates and they said that the diploma will be given at convocation which is held once in three years!!!! I am a US Citizen and want to go back to USA now ( I miss home!!). However I do plan to take my USMLE Step 1 in the next 5 months. I read the application process for the exam on the ECFMG website and they state that medical school graduates are required to submit a copy of their diploma with their application. What should I do about this if my medical school is taking forever to give me my diploma ? I have a transcript and notices from the medical school stating that I have graduated but I don't have the diploma yet. Does that mean that I can't register for the USMLE? Please help .... I intend to fly back to the US next week. Also, how am I going to get the signature from the Dean for that certification of Identification when I am in USA? I can't keep coming back to India for these small things. Is there a simple way to do all this from the USA once I am back home ? I am just so terribly homesick that I can't stay here anymore!

uh yes, it's called mail cool

u can just mail the forms back to ur school and have them mail it back, yes u have to get certified by ecfmg so they have it on record, just do it rite the first time and then u will be set, then applying for the other exam sgets easier, so just be patient, get ur diploma when it comes, or have them mail it to u, and then u'll be fine! good luc!! nod
